Good
News! Our water test results are very good.., samples
taken on
June 25, 2007 at 6:30
a.m. came back execellent.
All four of our beaches have E.coli numbers of under
20/100ml H2O. Putnam County Department of Health
guidelines mandates that this number be below
235/100ml H2O. Our lake waters are fine and safe
for swimming!
The
New York State Health Department sets the standards
for swimming quality water Not the PLCC! The
PLCC however is very concerned about the quality
of our lake. A PLCC board member takes the samples
and transports them to the test facility, the test
results are sent to the PLCC. If a public health
issue arises, the Putnam County Health Department
will shut down the beach in question or the entire
lake and further testing will take place until
the quality returns to acceptable levels.
In
the event that a beach or the entire lake is closed,
signs will be posted informing the members of the
issue.
